Let Walk: CB Brent Grimes

Tampa Bay was almost forced to bring Brent Grimes back last season. The Bucs needed to add a veteran into the mix at cornerback. Unfortunately, Tampa picked the wrong vet.

Grimes’ recent comments about his motivation in 2018 should make it an easy decision for general manager Jason Licht. The Bucs cannot have a player who isn’t fully committed in the locker room next season.

Grimes whined about how his paycheck wasn’t up to par with other top corners. He refused to shadow other team’s top receivers because of it.

There will be issues at cornerback in 2019, but hopefully, Carlton Davis can take a step next season, and Vernon Hargreaves can play at his best in a contract year.

Grimes may call it quits this offseason, but if he wants to continue his NFL career, the Bucs shouldn’t have much interest due to his remarks about his contract and age.
