Offensive tackle

OT Cody Ford –  Oklahoma

Most of the conversation about the top tackle in the 2019 Draft has revolved around Alabama’s Jonah Williams. He was taken by the Buccaneers in both of The Pewter Plank’s Mock Drafts.

However, Oklahoma’s Cody Ford may be the other elite tackle prospect in this year’s class. He is a monster of a man. At six-foot-four, 330 pounds, Ford has the measurables of an NFL tackle.

He had his best season in college in 2018 and will likely be a first-round pick. The tackle position could be a need for Tampa come April and Ford could be high up on their big board.

Donovan Smith is heading for free agency, and the aging Demar Dotson doesn’t appear to have much left in the tank. Selecting a player like Ford who can step into the right or left tackle spot can solve problems in the present and future.

Look for Ford and Williams to be the first two tackles off the board come April.
