OLB Thomas Davis – Carolina Panthers

The Panthers decided to move on from veteran linebacker Thomas Davis. But the 35-year-old wants to play another season. If there aren’t many suitors, perhaps Tampa Bay can sign the former All-Pro to a team friendly deal.

David may not have to play a significant role with the Bucs if they re-sign Kwon Alexander, but he could be tremendous depth and useful on run downs.

Davis is familiar with a 4-3 defense and would be a tremendous leader and a likely favorite of Bruce Arians. Regarding production, he had a solid 2018. He had 79 tackles, three tackles for loss and six passes defended.

Even if Alexander returns, he will be coming back from an ACL injury he suffered in the middle of last season. Kendell Beckwith also didn’t play a snap in 2018 so his status for next season is still a question mark.

The Bucs need talent at linebacker. Giving Davis a one-year deal to help implement a culture change would be a good idea.
