Tevin Coleman

How sweet would it be for the Bucs to poach a productive player from a division rival? As it stands now, Ronald Jones appears to be a miss, and while Peyton Barber played well, Tampa Bay should look to add some security to the running back room.

Atlanta Falcon running back Tevin Coleman is set to hit the open market and may be looking for a bigger opportunity than playing second fiddle to Devonte Freeman. In a Bruce Arians/Byron Leftwich offense, a scheme that David Johnson thrived under, Coleman may be the perfect combination of speed and size for Tampa Bay to replicate their success in Arizona.

Still ripe at the age of 25, Coleman has averaged over four yards a carry throughout his career, and if given the opportunity, he could be a star in waiting. With three straight seasons with right around 1,000 total yards, Coleman deserves the chance to start, and if Tampa Bay were smart, they would take stock in the former Indiana Hoosier.

Last season we saw a running back with similar production in Isaiah Crowell get a deal with the New York Jets worth around $4 million annually. Expect Coleman to demand a little more than that on the open market, but his services should be obtainable for around $5-6 million a year.
