Future draft assets

With only six picks in this upcoming draft, a bit of a bind with the salary cap at the current moment, and on the brink of tearing it all down, it would be wise for the Bucs to seek out any asset for aging players rumored to be on the cusp of getting the ax. If Licht gets an offer for even a late round pick for the previously mentioned Dotson, Jackson, or McCoy, he should make the deal in a heartbeat rather than cutting ties for free.

Teams such as the Houston Texans, who are attempting to exploit their championship window, may be willing to give up assets to acquire a veteran like Dotson to help protect DeShaun Watson, who was sacked the most of any quarterback in the league. The Raiders or Jets have a lot of assets, cap space and a need for a vertical threat and may be willing to inquire about Jackson. The Browns have been rumored to be interested in McCoy, and due to his production, he could usher at the very least a fifth rounder on the trade block.

Bruce Arians was hired to try to get the best out of Winston and to attempt to capitalize on any chance to compete for a championship, but in all reality, the Buccaneers are a bad start to their season from moving on from Winston and hitting the reset button. If this is the case, then the team needs to acquire draft assets, and pronto.
