Rashard Higgins

While Rashard Higgins is a restricted free agent, one of Baker Mayfield’s favorite targets, and a priority for the Cleveland Browns to re-sign, there is still a slim chance that the team can bid for his services once free agency starts. The sure-handed receiver out of Colorado State had a breakout season in 2018 with Mayfield at quarterback and new Head Coach Freddie Kitchens for the Browns running the offense.

In 13 games in Cleveland this past season, Higgins tallied 572 yards on 39 catches for the Browns while finding the end zone four times. With the nickname Hollywood, he displayed some camera worthy catches, converting a highly productive 74% catch percentage. This was an increase from 27 catches, 312 yards and two touchdowns from the year before, and the question has to be asked: how much was Hue Jackson holding him back?

Entering his fourth season in the league, it seems like Hollywood is just scratching the surface, a main reason that the Browns do not want him to leave Cleveland, but if he does, the Bucs should consider surrendering whatever the tender would be to sign him. At only 24 years old, the 6’1 slot would be a great contender to replace Humphries in the slot for the Buccaneeers.
