Greedy Williams CB Louisiana State

Brent Grimes was out of the door as soon as the season was over, and the team could not feel better about seeing him walk after his contract expired; needless to say, he will not be resigned this offseason. With the exit of Grimes and former first rounder Vernon Hargreaves on the verge of earning himself the bust label, an upgrade is needed at the corner position. Even with using a second rounder on Carlton Davis, who could be a breakout performer next season, the Bucs still need to consider using another high draft pick on another corner this year.

With Greedy Williams out of LSU slotted anywhere from 8-20 in most mock drafts, it is possible that the Buccaneers could land his services at any position that they could trade back to within the top 20. The speedster is expected to be the first cornerback off of the board, especially considering he is projected to run one of the fastest 40 yard dashes of the weekend.

While it is possible that Williams could fall to the Detroit Lions at the eighth overall pick, his stock has seemed to take a bit of a hit over the last month or so as concerns over his film have begun to set in. However, with a pick in the teens, Williams would be great value for the Buccaneers and their desperate secondary.
