Brian Burns EDGE Florida State

Lucky for the Bucs, they will be able to bring in Florida State pass rusher Brian Burns without using an official visit due to him being an in-state prospect. There is much uncertainty as to where Burns will fall, mocked any where from the top-10 to the end of the first round. He is a prospect to keep an eye on if Jason Licht pulls the trigger and trades out of the fifth overall pick.

Burns is a freak athlete and is expected to display that at the Combine later this month in Indianapolis. However, many experts are concerned about his slender frame, measuring at a towering 6’5, but only 235 pounds. Giving teams a scary Barkevious Mingo feel, who was picked 6th overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2013 and never panned out, Burns will need to show that he has put on weight at the Combine or display a good deal of strength during the bench press.

Burns absolutely has the frame to put on weight and add muscle, but the question has to be asked: why hasn’t he bulked up during his three seasons at Florida State? However, he has the skill and athleticism to wow scouts and general managers and will become a first round pick. Tampa Bay needs to keep close tabs on him as they prepare to cover all angles of a possible trade down.
