3.7: Amani Oruwariye CB Penn State

With their third round pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Amani Oruwariye, cornerback, Penn State.

The tall and lanky Nittany Lion would be a great value pick here for the Bucs in the third round and would help their otherwise struggling secondary. With Brent Grimes on the way out and Vernon Hargreaves having a rough start to his NFL career, it is important for Tampa Bay to add some security to the cornerback position. Second-year corner Carlton Davis has much to prove after his first full offseason of training with the team as well.

Standing at 6’1 and weighing in at 205 pounds, Oruwariye, the three-year contributor at Penn State could likely vault his name into the second round with an athletic performance this weekend at the Combine. The productive cornerback used a strong Senior campaign in 2018 to earn himself a trip to the Senior Bowl earlier this month, where he performed quite well.

With eight career interceptions and 20 additional pass breakups, Oruwariye has proven that he has a nose for the football, and at a stout 205 frame, he has the size and strength to compete at the next level. Look for him to jump off of the charts in Indianapolis this weekend at the Combine.
