Greedy Williams

The Bucs will address their secondary in both free agency and in the draft, and one prospect to keep an eye on is cornerback Greedy Williams from Louisiana State. With Brent Grimes cleaning out his locker as fast as possible and the inconsistency of both Vernon Hargreaves and Carlton Davis, there is a desperate need for the Bucs at the cornerback position. College teammates with White, Williams is expected to be among the fastest players at the Combine and could solidify himself as the top ranked cornerback in this year’s class ahead of Washington’s Byron Murphy and Georgia’s Deandre Baker.

Williams’ projected range has been predicted anywhere from pick 5-20. If he tests well, the Bucs may have to stick at the fifth pick in order to get him, however they could gamble on a trade down and still be able to snag him from 10-15 as well if Tampa Bay trades with Denver, Cincinnati, or Washington.

Expect the 6’1 corner to run a sub 4.4 40, and athletically test off the charts, but keep a close eye on his positional drills as the biggest knock on Williams is his technical mechanics. In a desperate secondary, Williams would be an immediate upgrade for Tampa Bay and Bucs fans must be glued to him this week.
