By Cory Kinnan
This week’s edition of the 7-round mock draft for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers comes on the heels of free agency, where the skies will become clearer.
Free agency is set to begin this week, as the market officially opens on Wednesday, March 13 at 4:00pm EST. Once the market sets off and signings start to be announced, the path of the NFL Draft will become much clearer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Rumors of Tyrann Mathieu being on the Bucs’ radar have already been reported, and many other former players of new head coach Bruce Arians are open for business as well. In what should be a frenzy of a week, make sure to keep your eyes peeled on our up-to-date offseason tracker.
In this week’s mock draft, we follow Combine statistics, rumors, and team news and pair them with team needs in order to attempt to predict what the Bucs could possibly do when the end of April finally rolls around.
With the re-signing of Donovan Smith and the decision to pick up Demar Dotson’s contract, the Bucs are no longer in need of an offensive tackle early on in this year’s draft. However, with team needs along the defense and at the guard spot; it would behoove the Bucs to bring another offensive weapon or two for Jameis Winston to Tampa Bay via the draft as well.
