Round 3, Pick 70: Trayvon Mullen, CB, Clemson

This cornerback class is starting to look weaker and weaker by the day as none of the big time prospects such as Deandre Baker, Greedy Williams, or Byron Murphy rising above the rest at the combine. This lack of success of this class will cause them all to drop and push one another back in the draft.

With that being said, Trayvon Mullen out of Clemson falls into the third round here for the Buccaneers. A much-needed addition to a struggling secondary, Tampa Bay brings in a big, physical corner with their third round selection here.

Brent Grimes is gone, no doubt about that, and Vernon Hargreaves has not exactly risen to the challenge thrust upon him as a first round pick, and when he has succeeded, it has been in the nickel. While they have Carlton Davis, a second rounder from a year ago, another outside corner is still needed.

Adding the national champion Mullen to the roster in the third round is a great value pick for the Bucs with four career interceptions during his time at Clemson, and he would be expected to come in and compete for a starting job on the outside at corner right away.
