Zach Brown

Hot off the press, Washington starting middle linebacker Zach Brown was just cut in order to free up cap space. After the departure of Kwon Alexander, there is now a gaping hole in the middle of their defense.

While there is a ton of steam to the rumors that the Buccaneers are zoned in on Louisiana State linebacker Devin White, signing Brown would give Tampa Bay the flexibility to trade out of the fifth overall spot and gather assets. Besides, signing Brown would not disqualify the Bucs from taking a linebacker in the draft considering the status of Kendell Beckwith still remains uncertain.

In 2018, Brown hit nearly 100 tackles in just 12 games, and recorded 10 tackles for loss and a sack, forcing two fumbles. This type of production will be sought after on the open market.

Brown may be a bit too pricey for the Bucs, who could still be looking to clear cap space, but with his price tag being a mystery, it is absolutely a worthy phone call for Tampa Bay to make. At just the age of 29, Brown still has a decent amount left to give on the field, and given the hole, Tampa Bay would be a quality fit.
