Why did free agent signees choose the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
By Cory Kinnan
After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added quality contributors on a budget, the question must be asked: Why did they choose to come to the Buccaneers?
To this point, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have added five new faces to the team that look to be significant contributors in 2019, where the Bucs have aspirations of making a run at the NFC South crown and beyond. With a new coaching staff in town, the fans will have to get used to a few new faces on the field as well as the sideline.
Wide receiver Breshad Perriman came over after the Cleveland Browns traded for Odell Beckham Jr., and the two sides mutually agreed to end their verbal agreement, Deone Bucannon is returning to familiar faces after bing misused during his last season in Arizona, and Bradley Pinion comes to Tampa Bay on a four-year deal to punt for the Buccaneers.
Why did these players choose Tampa Bay? We obviously know that it is not the money as the Bucs are one of the most cap strapped teams in the entire National Football League. So what made the Buccaneers the most attractive team for these players to sign with?
While the Buccaneers have also signed both Shaquil Barrett and Kentrell Brice, they have yet to speak to the media; once the two newest members do speak to the media, we will keep our readers up-to-date. We do have sound bites from the first three signees to come to Tampa Bay, however, so we explore the question: Why did they choose the Buccaneers over every other offer?
