Breshad Perriman

In a bizarre sequence of events for Perriman, the wide receiver had agreed to return to Cleveland on a one-year deal. However, the Browns shocked the entire NFL by acquiring superstar wide receiver Beckham Jr. from the Giants later that night. It was at that point that rumors began to surface that Perriman wanted out of the deal he had just verbally agreed to, and ultimately the team agreed to mutually part ways with Perriman.

The question still remains though, after resurrecting his career a year ago after looking like a bust, why did Perriman choose Tampa Bay? When asked the question, the former University of Central Florida standout responded:

"“Being able to play with Jameis [Winston] and Mike [Evans]. It’s a huge opportunity that I am excited to fill.” (via Buccaneers.com)"

It seems like the personnel played a role as well as the style of play that head coach Bruce Arians offers to offensive playmakers. When asked about his familiarity with Arians’ offense and if that played a role, Perriman responded:

"“It’s exciting man, it’s a huge part of this process… I know the amount of deep shots he likes to take down the field… I can’t wait.” (via Buccaneers.com)"

Perriman, who looks to fill the shoes of DeSean Jackson as Tampa Bay’s deep threat, seems to be drooling over the idea of being on the other end of Winston’s massive arm.

Finally Perriman, who played his collegiate ball in Florida and has family in the state, said he has received an overwhelming amount of support and excitement from his family about returning home to Florida. He stated that this support from his friends and family “Makes me feel even better about my decision.”
