A+. . . EDGE. SHAQUIL BARRETT

Shaquil Barrett signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers after five seasons in Denver with the Broncos. However in that span, he was only able to account for 15 starts as he had to fight for playing time with Bradley Chubb, Von Miller, and Shane Ray off of the edge.

Coming to Tampa Bay in order to see a larger role, Barrett is poised for a breakout season with the Buccaneers. For the first time in his career, he will have the chance to be a full-time starter; not bad for a former undrafted free agent and practice squad player.

In his career, Barrett had forced seven forced fumbles, 14 sacks, and 25 tackles for loss; he has hit the quarterback an additional 35 times as well. It was a shame that Denver had so much depth as Barrett’s potential was cast aside.

According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Barrett has ranked as a quality starter at a score of 75.9, with an increase of production with the Bucs off of the edge, Barrett could be staring at double-digit sacks in 2019. At only $4 million this year, snagging the 26-year-old pass rusher is a complete steal for the Buccaneers.
