Round 5, 145. Jordan Scarlett, RB, Florida

In need of a third down back as both Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones are not known for their abilities to make plays in the passing game, the Buccaneers look at an in-state prospect and select Jordan Scarlett from the University of Florida. Although Scarlett is a late bloomer, entering the draft at the age of 23, he tested well at the combine, making him good enough to select with a fifth round pick.

Earlier this month in Indianapolis, Scarlett broke the 4.5 second threshold, running a 4.47 40 yard dash; he also looked like a natural pass catcher out of the backfield during the on-field drill portion of the combine as well. He also managed to press 21 reps on the bench press as well, which is an impressive number for a running back.

If the Buccaneers were able to land Lee from the Jets as previously mentioned, then this would be the pick that would most likely be the cost of doing business. However, in this mock draft the Buccaneers add some talent to their running back room and give Winston a much-needed target out of the backfield by taking the former Gator Jordan Scarlett with their fifth round selection.
