Round 7, Pick 215: Blace Brown, CB, Troy

Blace Brown was a very effective corner in his time at Troy after coming to campus as a wide receiver. Brown has had an interesting career path after playing cornerback for three years in high school before switching to wide receiver as a senior just to switch back to the efensive side of the ball in college.

Due to the position flip Brown found himself being overlooked by most major college teams. After redshirting as a freshman Brown made the switch back to corner for the Trojans and it turned out to be the right move.

In three years as a starting corner Brown totaled 111 total tackles, 16 passes deflected and 12 interceptions for Troy. Brown will likely line up as an outside corner, and while he’s small at 6’0 and 185 pounds, he is not afraid to get physical and lay a big hit. In 2018, the Senior cornerback picked off one pass while defending an additional six.

With a knack for finding the ball and making good reads Brown has potential to be a late round guy who climbs his way into a starting role. Here with their last selection in the draft, the Buccaneers take a chance on Brown.
