Jay Ajayi

In need of a versatile running back that can catch the ball out of the backfield and excel on passing downs, Jay Ajayi could give the Buccaneers an added dual-threat back to their already talented offense. Entering only his fifth season in the league and only soon-to-be 26 years old, Ajayi could be a very cost effective move for the Bucs to take a look at.

When healthy, Ajayi is one of the best running backs in the league, however over the past two seasons, the Boise State alum has only played a total of 11 games for both the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. In his one healthy season, though, he rushed for nearly 1,300 yards, scored eight touchdowns, and added another 27 catches through the air. For his career, Ajayi has rushed for over 2,500 yards and scored a total of 14 touchdowns.

If the Buccaneers were willing to take a chance on him, it would not cost them much over the veteran minimum on a one-year deal. In need of a back that can do it all for head coach Bruce Arians’ style of offense, Ajayi could be a player they look to bring to Tampa Bay.
