Eric Berry

Eric Berry was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs the day before his bonus was due, and now finds himself on the open market. Berry is a five-time Pro Bowler, three-time All Pro, and the 2015 NFL Comeback Player of the Year after returning to the field after defeating cancer.

However, the elite safety has only been on the field for three games in two seasons as he continues to battle injuries. There is no question that Berry is one of the best safeties in the game when he can stay healthy, however he needs to be on the field in order to contribute.

Throughout his career, Berry has tallied 14 total interceptions as scored a massive amount of defensive touchdowns, five in total. He has knocked down an additional 51 passes and forced four fumbles from his safety position. Having a knack for getting into the backfield, Berry has recorded 5.5 sacks over his career and 29 tackles for loss as well.

If the Buccaneers wanted to take a chance on Berry and sign him to a one-year deal, it could end up paying big dividends for them. However, there is a reason that he has not signed with a team yet, and that is most likely because he is asking for more money than teams are willing to give a 30-year-old safety who has been prone to injuries as of late.
