Round 6, Pick 208: Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson
How better to replace Humphries in the wide receiver room than to draft a guy that went to the same university as him and is cut from the same cloth as him in terms of play style? Hunter Renfrow from Clemson is the definition of a route running technician.
While Renfrow does not have elite traits athletically, he gets in and out of his breaks quickly and efficiently to gain separation from linebackers and safeties underneath the defense. Although Renfrow has extremely tiny hands, he rarely drops a ball and could give Winston a much needed security blanked underneath the defense while Mike Evans O.J. Howard, Chris Godwin, and Breshad Perriman work to stretch the defense.
Renfrow had an immaculate career for the Tigers as the two-time national champion finished his collegiate career with 15 touchdowns on 186 catches from the slot in four years. He never went over 1,000 yards in a season, but was asked to do his job, and he did it well.
With a sixth round pick, the Buccaneers could do far worse than give a guy who was extremely efficient a chance to succeed at the next level. Tampa Bay fills the void left behind by Humphries with Renfrow.
