The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be in the market for another tight end in this year’s draft, however if they do elect to draft one it will be on day-three.

Entering the 2019 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers already have two quality tight ends in O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate, but they could always look to add depth on day-three of the draft. This year’s draft class happens to be a deep class with a load of talent to be found in every round.

While Howard’s roster spot is as safe as a roster spot can be, the Buccaneers could seek to move on from Brate via a trade if they are looking to clear up cap space as he carries a heavy $7 million hit in 2019. If Brate is moved, then there would be a need for a new second tight end in Tampa Bay.

The NFL is transitioning to offensive systems that utilize multiple tight end sets, so even though Tampa Bay has two starting caliber players on their roster at the position already, adding depth should remain a priority. A third tight end who can contribute as a rookie can be found on day-three of the draft or in the pool of undrafted free agents.

If the Buccaneers choose to move on from Brate or are looking to add a third tight end, here are three day-three targets that Tampa Bay could target as potential playmakers for their offense.
