Round 3, Pick 70: Sean Bunting, CB, Central Michigan

A three-year starter at Central Michigan, Sean Bunting has been a late riser up draft boards, and now looks like a day-two pick in the upcoming draft. While the Buccaneers look set to ride out 2019 with Vernon Hargreaves and Carlton Davis as their starting cornerbacks, Bunting could add depth and potentially push Hargreaves to the nickel spot.

Throughout his college career, Bunting has tallied a total of nine career picks, including two in 2018, and knocked down an additional 15 passes in three seasons. At the combine, Bunting measured in at 6’0 and 195 pounds and proceeded to put on a show.

Bunting ran a 4.42 second 40 yard dash, hit 41.5 inches on his vertical jump, and over 10 feet on his broad jump. At his pro day, Bunting hit 6.89 seconds on his 3-cone drill, breaking that seven second ceiling that is usually the barometer as well.

Although he has been a late riser, Bunting now sits firmly in play in the late second round or early third round when the draft rolls around in less than two weeks. Here, the Buccaneers put him in the pewter and red with the 70th overall pick in the draft.
