Round 3, Pick 72 (via CIN): Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota

Picking up Cincinnati’s third round pick in this simulation as well, the Buccaneers are back on the board just two picks after selecting Bunting. With the 72nd pick in the draft, the Buccaneers take the Minnesota Gopher linebacker Blake Cashman.

After trading back to the 11th pick in the draft, the Bucs missed out on Devin White and fins themselves still in need of a linebacker. Cashman would be the ultimate consolation prize for missing out on White.

At the combine, Cashman measured in at 6’1 and 237 pounds, putting him right at the size of White and Michigan linebacker Devin Bush. He then put his name on the map by running a 4.5 second 40 yard dash, jumping to the tune of a 37.5 inch vertical and over 10 feet on his broad jump; elite athleticism for someone who was relatively unheard of before his trip to Indianapolis.

Cashman displayed enough athleticism to have himself be talked about as a potential day-two pick, and the ability to snag him in the early third round is one that the Buccaneers cannot pass up on. Here they do not pass up on Cashman and make him a Buccaneer with the 72nd pick in the draft.
