Montez Sweat, EDGE, Mississippi State

Nobody has put NFL scouts and general manager on more of a roller coaster during this pre-draft process than Montez Sweat out of Mississippi State. Sweat went viral at the Senior Bowl, bull rushing an offensive tackle during one practice portion, and since then his draft stock has been through the roof.

Except just one small problem: his physical at the combine showed a small heart condition, however it was not big enough to keep him from participating in drills. While this might scare off some Bucs faithfuls who still remember the pick of Gaines Adams in 2007, Sweat is a real threat to land in the top-ten next week and is worthy enough to land in front of White.

At the combine, White ran the fastest 40 yard dash of any edge rusher with a time of 4.41 seconds, and has the length that ranks in him in the 88th percentile height-wise and 97th percentile with his wingspan. He also ranked in the 80th percentile or above in the vertical jump (81st), his broad jump (92nd) and his 3-cone drill (83rd.)

Having the size and ability to play outside linebacker in Tampa Bay’s 3-4 defensive scheme, Sweat and every other player on this list, becomes a more valuable asset to the Buccaneers than White would be in the middle of their defense where resources have already been allocated to.
