Round 3, Pick 70: Tytus Howard, OT, Alabama State

The Buccaneers have met with Tytus Howard on three separate occasions, and if he falls to the 70th pick in the draft, he is as good as gone at the hands of Tampa Bay. As Dotson continues to get older, the Buccaneers are actively looking to get his replacement in the building to groom for a year before taking over the reigns at right tackle.

While Howard may have attended the small school of Alabama State, there is nothing little about him or his game. Making a name for himself at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama at the beginning of the pre-draft process, Howard looks like a day-two lock. Howard parlayed his solid performance in Mobile into an invite to the combine, where he showed he belonged.

At 6’5 and 322 pounds, Howard ran one of the top 40 yard dashes in the tackle class at 5.05 seconds. He also nearly hit 30 inches on his vertical jump and 8’7 feet on his broad jump, showing good athleticism. There is a good chance Howard does not make it to the 70th pick in the draft, but the Buccaneers would love to add the big man and mold him into their future starter at right tackle.
