Nasir Adderley, Delaware

Small school, big time potential. Nasir Adderley from Delaware hopes to be the first Blue Hen taken in the first two days of the draft since Joe Flacco. While he was slotted as a first round pick for most of the pre-draft process, he did not test at the combine and re-aggravated a pre-existing injury at his pro day.

Adderley posted explosive numbers on his vertical and broad jumps, hitting 38 inches and 10’9 feet respectively; he also pounded out 19 reps on the bench press, one of the highest in the safety class. While Adderley was timed at 4.62 seconds on his 40 yard dash, he did come up limp in the middle of his run, dropping his time.

Over his four years at Delaware, Adderley put together quite the stat sheet for the Blue Hens. Over his career, he tallied ten interceptions and 31 passes defended. In 2018, Adderley put together a stat sheet of three picks and nine passes defended; he played well at the Senior Bowl as well, grabbing the attention of NFL teams.

Also in play at the 39th pick in the draft, Adderly, listed at nearly 6’0 and 206 pounds, would give the Buccaneers an upgraded safety group of him and Evans, with the potential to play Adderley in the slot. Keep an eye on the small school prospect in the second round as he could be heading to Tampa Bay.
