Judah Davis, LB, Clemson (minicamp tryout)

While Clemson had a number of players from the national champion defense, linebacker Judah Davis was not one of them. Instead, the Buccaneers add him to their roster as an undrafted free agent with a chance to join Devin White as the second rookie linebacker make the roster in Tampa Bay. Not to mention, his dad, Jeff Davis is a former player for the Buccaneers as well.

While the likes of Clelin Ferrell, Tre Lamar, Dexter Lawrence, and Christian Wilkins all saw significant playing time for the Tigers, Davis was nothing more than a rotational and situational player at Clemson. He managed to only total 40 total tackles and two tackles for loss in four years with the Tigers. However, he has two rings to his name during that span as well, so he cannot be too upset.

Measuring in at nearly 6’2 and 242 pounds, Davis ran just a 4.92 second 40 yard dash and a 27.5 inch vertical jump. He did, however, hit 27 reps on his bench press, displaying power and explosiveness.

He seems like a longshot to make an NFL roster as his production and athleticism do not quite add up. However, the Buccaneers will give Davis a chance to earn his keep and to prove his worth in Tampa Bay after getting a tryout at the Buccaneers’ rookie minicamp.
