Jalen Allison, CB, North Dakota State

The only cornerback signed as an undrafted free agent is North Dakota State’s Jalen Allison. After drafting four cornerbacks on day-two of the draft over the last two years, there is not much of a need of any more depth at that position.

Allison saw significant playing time in all four years for the Bisons, but had his 2018 season cut short. Throughout his career, Allison has tallied a total of eight interceptions and 34 passes defended. In 2018, he put together a stat sheet of two interceptions and eight passes defended for the North Dakota State defense.

Measuring in at his pro day at 5’11½ and 183 pounds, Allison ran a 4.51 second 40 yard dash, proving to have the speed necessary to make the leap from FCS football to the NFL. Allison also ran a sub-seven second 3-cone drill and hit 35.5 inches of his vertical jump; he is plenty athletic to compete to make the Buccaneers.

Allison does have an uphill battle as the Buccaneers do have a plethora of defensive backs currently on their roster who he will have to attempt to oust in order to make the roster. However, with his size and athleticism he could make the roster if nothing more than a contributor on special teams.
