Loser: Jason Licht

This draft does not come out looking great on general manager Jason Licht anyway it is looked at. While there is speculation as to whether or not Licht was the one actually running the show over the weekend, both situations look less than ideal to the rest of the world.

If Licht was running the show and making the selections for the Buccaneers, then he seemingly drafted over players he had just drafted the year before. After drafting Davis and M.J. Stewart on the second day on the draft just one year ago, he, again if he made the picks, drafted two three more defensive backs on day-two of the draft this year in Murphy-Bunting, Dean, and safety Mike Edwards.

If Arians was making the picks, then it shows Licht has surrendered any authority he has had in Tampa Bay after years of sub-par drafting. Should Licht have given up this right, then what is the purpose of his job in Tampa Bay at this point? Why do the Buccaneers keep him around at all? In either situation, this year’s draft was not a good look on the Buccaneers general manager and it would not be a shock to see the 2019 season as his last in Tampa Bay.
