Tampa Bay Buccaneers fantasy football outlook for 2019
By Dylan Grimm
Ronald Jones III, RB
When talking about draft busts, Ronald Jones III is very high up on that list as he not only let down the Bucs fans and organization, he let down those who took a chance on him in the early rounds. Jones is not known for his pass catching abilities so he is not the most exciting player for points per reception (PPR) leagues to begin with which hurts his stock.
Jones had a miserable rookie season and many have written him off already. With the NFL draft coming and going and the Bucs drafted no running backs, that bodes well for Ronald Jones to have another chance to prove himself.
Jones only has to worry about Peyton Barber stealing carries, and Andre Ellington coming in on third downs and in passing situations. Jones is being given a fresh start from Arians and needs to capitalize on it if he wants to have a career in this league.
Jones is someone I’ll happily take a late round flyer on because if things click for him he can be a RB2 with RB1 upside depending on the matchup. Who knows? He could be headed for a massive sophomore season; he certainly has the size and speed if he puts it all together.
