O.J. Howard, TE

In terms of fantasy football and where O.J. Howard went in the NFL he has been basically a bust or better yet a let down. Howard was billed as the next great tight end and very well could become that and I truly believe he takes that first step in 2019.

In two years in the NFL Howard has appeared in 22 of 32 possible games and has totaled 997 yards and 11 touchdowns with 60 catches. Splitting these numbers over two seasons would have Howard as a low end TE1 or a high end TE2 at best and that is not a player you go out of your way to target.

Howard seemed to be coming into his own before missing the remainder of last season so hopefully he picks up where he left off from a season ago. As long as Cameron Brate is on roster though it will limit the upside of Howard.

If Howard can stay on the field and builds on the trust with Winston, he can turn in an 800 yard season on 50 catches with another seven scores. Howard is someone to monitor closely throughout the season because he can pop off and give us that first rounder talent we all fell in love with. If Brate is to be moved or gets injured expect Howard to finish as a top 6 TE.
