The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed running back Kerwynn Williams. He played under Bruce Arians for four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

Another former player of head coach Bruce Arians has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; this time it is running back Kerwynn Williams who was cut by the Detroit Lions after the draft last week. Williams now joins a running back room with Peyton Barber, Ronald Jones, and Andre Ellington.

Williams did not see any action in 2018 while with the Lions and Kansas City Chiefs, and now finds himself on his third team in as many years after being picked up by the Buccaneers. He started his career in 2013 where he played for both the Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers, but never made an impact before falling into the lap of Arians as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

Throughout his career, Williams has tallied 971 yards rushing and four scores on the ground, while adding an additional 15 catches for 126 yards through the air. His best season came in 2017 under Arians, where Williams started six games.

It is yet to be determined if Williams will be just a camp body or if he is a real threat to see playing time for the Buccaneers in 2019. Having familiarity with Arians and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich give Williams a boost necessary in order to compete for a roster spot. While Barber and Jones look to head a two-man rushing attack, the Buccaneers continue to add fallback players in case of emergencies.
