The news keeps getting worse on Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kendell Beckwith as he will now miss his second season in a row with an ankle injury.

The news is not looking good on Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kendell Beckwith. After getting into a car accident in the Spring of 2018 and breaking his ankle, Beckwith missed the entire season last year. Today, the Buccaneers have placed Beckwith on the reserve/non-football injury list, putting him out for the second season with his career now in doubt.

General manager Jason Licht did not sound too enthusiastic at the combine when asked about Beckwith, and the news has been limited since then, until today. A devastating blow for both Beckwith and the Buccaneers as he had a successful rookie campaign after being selected in the third round of the 2017 draft.

Starting 11 games during his rookie year, Beckwith had 60 solo tackles for the Buccaneers. He also tallied one sack, seven tackles for loss, and forced one fumble. His promising career is now on hold for at least another season and possibly over before it ever got started.

Beckwith’s injury, along with the loss of Kwon Alexander, played a large role in the Buccaneers selecting linebacker Devin White with the fifth overall pick in the draft. White will now have a heavy load to bear, as he and veteran Lavonte David will man the middle of the Tampa Bay defense, while Deone Bucannon will patrol sideline-to-sideline for the Buccaneers.

While his career is still on hold, not all hope is lost for his career yet. The Pewter Plank wishes Beckwith all the best as he continues to rehab from his ankle injury. Hopefully he can get back on the field and with the organization in 2020.
