2020 NFL Mock Drafts are already flowing, thank goodness, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select University of Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas.

Although the 2019 NFL Draft has just concluded with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers landing studs such as linebacker Devin White and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, it is never too early to prep for the 2020 NFL Draft. In Rotoworld’s newest 2020 mock draft, Thor Nystrom has the Buccaneers zeroing in on University of Georgia’s offensive tackle Andrew Thomas.

Thomas has started on the Bulldog’s offensive line over the past two years, playing at right tackle as a freshman, then replacing Isaiah Wynn at left tackle in 2018. Anchoring the Georgia offensive line last year, Thomas was named as a consensus All American.

"“Thomas has started 28 of 29 career games, only missing one with a sprained knee. Thomas has Jonah [Williams] beat in both length and athleticism, so he isn’t going to be followed by the same tired “he should move inside” narrative. And per PFF’s grades, Thomas (80.6) was better than Jonah (76.9) as a sophomore. Jonah’s grade jumped to 89.2 as a junior and a similar developmental leap is needed out of Thomas to make the top-five a reality” (Nystrom via Rotoworld)."

While the Buccaneers just signed left tackle Donovan Smith to a three-year extension this offseason, they will have a hole to fill at right tackle in 2020. Longtime Buccaneer Demarr Dotson is on the last year of his deal in Tampa Bay, and after nearly a decade, it may be time for him to hang up his cleats.

Should Jameis Winston struggle in 2018, then the Buccaneers will have bigger fish to fry and need to prioritize the quarterback position. However, should Winston stay in Tampa Bay through this year and beyond, Thomas should remain squarely on the Buccaneers’ radar in 2020.
