LB Lavonte David

Lavonte David has been the backbone of the Tampa Bay defense alongside Gerald McCoy for the past seven seasons and has been very productive in the process. David was selected by the Bucs in the second round of the 2012 draft by way of Nebraska.

Since joining the Bucs, David has been one of the most productive and reliable outside linebackers in the entire NFL. In seven seasons David has started in 16 games in four of those and the lowest he has appeared in was 13 which was the 2018 season.

The beginning of David’s career was more productive than the last few seasons have been although his play has still been at a high level. In his career David has accounted for 884 tackles with 641 of those being solo tackles and 106 being tackles for loss.

While being an ultra productive tackler at the second level and in the box David is no slouch as a pass rusher totaling 21.5 sacks and 45 QB hits while forcing 18 fumbles and totaling 10 interceptions. While David has not played in 16 games either of the last two seasons and is nearing 30 years old he will still he counted on by Todd Bowles to lead the defense and locker room now that McCoy is gone.
