A seasoned vet is steering the ship

After watching the power struggle between Lovie Smith and Dirk Koetter, and two years with Koetter at the helm, the Buccaneers finally have a seasoned vet with the headset and clipboard on the sidelines. With Bruce Arians now in charge in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers should transform into a well disciplined team which will lead to a massive culture change.

Not only that, but Arians brought with him a former head coach in Todd Bowles to lead the defense, and Buccaneers’ former quarterback (and soon-to-be-head coach somewhere) Leftwich to take over the offense. The Buccaneers truly went all in with the hiring of Arians, and there is reason to believe he will not fail their faith in him.

While it seems general manager Jason Licht has surrendered some of his power to make the offer more appealing to Arians, that is not necessarily a bad thing. For one, Licht has not been the most frugal or successful at acquiring talent since 2014, and for another, letting the coach field his own players should lead to better success on the field.
