Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Easterling also gave the Buccaneers running back Najee Harris from Alabama in the second round of this mock draft. It would appear Easterling does not have much faith in either Ronald Jones nor Peyton Barber with the selection of another running back so early in this draft.

Harris is a huge back, listed at 6-2 and 230 pounds; he would translate as a potential Barber replacement, who is on a one-year extension, as they have a similar bruising running styles and large frames. Harris through the first two years of his collegiate career, in a crowded running back room that consisted of two 2019 draftees Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris, has already tallied productive stats.

Throughout his career to this point, Harris has totaled 1,153 yards rushing and seven touchdowns on the ground. He saw a bigger role in the Crimson Tide’s championship run (which fell short) last year, tallying 783 yards rushing and four touchdowns; he averaged 6.7 yards per carry in 2018.

Should Harris boast a solid season as the lead back for Alabama this year, which he should, then he will join the likes of Jacobs, Trent Richardson, and Mark Ingram as Crimson Tide running backs to hear their names called early in the draft. Keep an eye on both Harris and Little as the college football season rolls along.
