Offensive Rookie of the Year: WR Scotty Miller

There was a slim list to pick from as the Buccaneers only drafted one offensive player in Bowling Green State University wide receiver Scotty Miller. While the team also signed a handful of promising undrafted rookie free agents such as Anthony Johnson, Xavier Ubosi, and Bruce Anderson, Miller is still the frontrunner of the class.

Due to injuries to Evans and Breshad Perriman at OTAs and mini-camp, Miller got some first team reps and did not disappoint after being on the receiving end of multiple deep balls. With the departure of Jackson and Humphries, Miller has an opportunity to play a prominent role for the Buccaneers’ offense right away,

Miller had an extremely productive career with the Falcons and as a result heard his name called in the sixth round. He finished his college career with a solid senior year, tallying 1,1448 yards and nine touchdowns off of 71 catches; Miller recorded a total of over 2,800 yards and 23 scores on 215 catches in three years as a starter in college.

Undersized, Miller is a burner, running a sub 4.4 second 40 yard dash at his pro day. Expect him to be deployed as the Buccaneers’ deep threat while also seeing significant time in the slot in offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich’s system.
