2. Develop rookie talent

The same can be said for every coach in the NFL but for Arians to have a successful first year he has to develop this rookie class. The 2018 draft class for the Buccaneers did have a few good players in it but there are also some higher draft picks that may not make it to their full potential in Tampa Bay.

Carlton Davis and M.J. Stewart were taken early in the draft but after switching defenses this past offseason with the hiring of Todd Bowles Davis and Stewart don’t fit the scheme at corner. Both of these players started last season but seem to be replaced now (or moved to safety for Stewart) with the drafting of Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting. Both of these recent draft picks appear to fit the scheme better in Tampa but make high round picks from last season seem obsolete.

The Buccaneers had a solid draft in 2019 contrary to popular opinion and there are four or five rookies that could be starters from day one in this group. These rookies have to be developed in an efficient manner for the sake of the present and the future. While Devin White is an obvious starter players like Scott Miller cannot be forgotten. Miller has the potential to be as good as Adam Humphries and Cole Beasley, but he has to be developed and given the time to learn under a smart coach like Arians.
