The odds for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to make the playoffs are set against them, but can Bruce Arians and company prove Las Vegas wrong?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off of back-to-back 5-11 seasons under former head coach Dirk Koetter, and as a result he was fired and Bruce Arians was hired. There is a large amount of optimism surrounding the team in Tampa Bay, but not so much in Las Vegas.

The Buccaneers are currently slated, tied with the Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions, with the fourth-worst odds to make the playoffs. The Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, and Washington are the only teams on the betting sheet with worse odds than the Buccaneers to hit the postseason entering the 2019 season.

Respect around the league is earned, and the Buccaneers have not done anything to earn respect around the league as their locker room has frequently been in discord, multiple losing seasons, and tying themselves down with cap space. However, Pro Football Focus seems to think that analytics are on the side of the Bucs as they enter into the Arians era.

If there are any bettors out there, hope remains that the Buccaneers could go from worst-to-first in the NFC South and make the playoffs under a coaching staff led by Arians, defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. With +400 odds, a substantial bet on the Buccaneers to make the playoffs could pay massive dividends.
