Athlon Sports has released their top-ten wide receivers entering the 2019 season, and Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the cut.

It is no surprise to anyone who is a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that Mike Evans is one of the best receivers in the league. Athlon Sports thinks so too as they released their top-ten receivers and Evans came in at number seven.

The names in front of him were Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., Julian Edleman, Antonio Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, and Michael Thomas. With no real objections to this list, ranking Edleman at number six, directly above Evans does seem a bit high.

"“Attempting to join Randy Moss in 2019 as the only players ever to open their careers with six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. He’s already the leading receiver in Bucs history (6,103 yards)” (via Athlon Sports)."

Depending on the Jameis Winston we see in 2019, Evans could be in his best offensive system of his career and could be in for a season that could top last year’s. Evans was highly productive last year, tallying over 1,500 yards and eight touchdowns on 86 catches with the revolving door of both Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing to him.

To this point in his career, Evans has been named to two Pro Bowls, last year and in 2016. Do not be shocked to see Evans back in the Pro Bowl again this year with another 1,500 yard season with double-digit touchdowns in Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich’s vertical offense.

Evans cracks the top-ten here, but if he does something that only Moss has done in his career, then he could solidify himself as a top-five receiver in the NFL. Take notice, Evans is still just 26 years old as he enters into his sixth year and looks to only be getting better.
