Week Three: New York Giants

This home matchup in week three should be the easiest that the Buccaneers face all season. There are no guarantees in the NFL, but on paper this matchup should be the one that the Bucs have the tools to win with ease. The New York Giants are still reeling after losing Odell Beckham Jr. and have a depleted secondary while the Buccaneer secondary should have the ability to keep up with the Giants’ receivers.

The biggest question mark in this matchup is whether or not the Buccaneers can contain running back Saquon Barkley. Barkely won offensive rookie of the year last season and ran all over the NFL. The Giants will lean heavily on Saquon as a workhorse. If the Buccaneers can contain Barkley they will have a decent shot to win the game if they can find success through the air.

The Giants on paper have few of the tools that the Buccaneers do, and Jameis Winston will almost surely have a better 2019 season than Eli Manning, whose career is coming to a close. Manning should be easy to exploit by a new and improved Buccaneer secondary. Look for Sean Murphy-Bunting to have a massive game against the two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback.
