The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one more inconsistent year from Jameis Winston away from moving on to a new quarterback; they land one here in this 2020 mock.

The series of bringing 2020 NFL mock drafts to light so that fans and readers can identify potential prospects to watch this season continues. This time, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers land star Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert with the seventh overall pick in the draft.

According to DraftSite.com, the Buccaneers are projected to pick one spot after the Arizona Cardinals and one spot before the Buffalo Bills. Here, Herbert is second off the board after the Miami Dolphins select Tua Tagovailoa number one overall.

Herbert, however, enters the 2019 season as my number one ranked quarterback after he would have been the surefire QB1 above Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, and Daniel Jones this year. If the Buccaneers do, in fact, have to draft a quarterback, Herbert would be a slam dunk selection.

At Oregon, Herbert has started for three years, tallying a touchdown to interception ratio of 63:17. He has thrown for over 7,000 yards and completed 62.5 percent of his passes throughout his time with the Ducks to this point as well in 29 starts.

In an ideal world, new head coach Bruce Arians would fix Jameis Winston, and he would finally reach the potential that is expected of the first overall pick that he was back in 2015. However, should the Buccaneers not succeed in 2019, then they will not only be looking for a new general manager, but a new quarterback as well.

Herbert, while he would have been a surefire first round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, decided to return to Oregon for his senior season. Should the Buccaneers be forced to press the reset button in 2020, Herbert would be an excellent selection to make the new face of the franchise.
