Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Devin White’s Madden 20 overall released
By Cory Kinnan
First round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Devin White had his overall for Madden 20 released today, and it seems a bit too low.
Madden 20 is set to release in August per usual, and today the first round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Devin White had his overall released today. Much to the chagrin of White and the Buccaneers, his overall is set at a measly 74 overall, lower than third round wide receiver D.K. Metcalf and overrated running back Josh Jacobs.
Last year’s first round pick Vita Vea was set at a 79 overall at the start of his rookie year despite being selected in the seven positions later than White was a year later. Madden may be improving their game, including harder judging of rookies; after all, number one overall pick is set at a 73 overall to begin his madden career.
It has been rumored, however, that White’s speed rating is set at 92, immediately setting him up to become a user favorite in the game. This is one attribute higher than Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie linebacker Devin Bush.
The Bucs’ fifth round pick has the fourth-best odds to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, yet his overall does not seem to match. The Butkus award winner has known for piling up tackles during his time at Louisiana State, and if he continues to tally solo tackles in the NFL, then his Madden overall will only go up from there.
This game could not come out soon enough, as the Buccaneers have an exciting rookie class to play with. As far as this writer knows, the other rookie ratings have not been released yet. White is set low considering his draft placement, but what will the rest be rated as?
