Even after drafting three defensive backs in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should take a look at Supplemental Draft prospect Jalen Thompson.

Washington State junior safety decided to go back to school for his senior year as this year’s positional class was loaded with talent. In fact, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took one in Kentucky’s Mike Edwards in the third round.

Thompson, however, is now set to enter the supplemental draft later this month after he has been declared ineligible for his senior year after purchasing banned over-the-counter supplements. After adding three defensive backs in the draft and a few more in free agency, the Buccaneers should still consider taking a look at Thompson.

Outside of Edwards, who was an obvious Todd Bowles branded player, do the Buccaneers have a viable long term starter at the safety position? Justin Evans is entering his third year with the team, but he currently has three areas of his profile that could hold back a potential future in Tampa Bay.
