4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers on their last straw in 2019
By Cory Kinnan
These four members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on their last straw with the team and will need an improved 2019 in order to earn the trust of the staff.
Let’s face it, 2018 was a disappointing season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on numerous levels. It has led to the firing of former head coach Dirk Koetter, the hiring of Bruce Arians, and the divorce between the team and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.
While it was McCoy this offseason who fell on the sword of the struggles of the Bucs, there are a number of players who could be facing their last chance to prove that they belong in the NFL and in Tampa Bay. In a crucial make-or-break year for the Buccaneers, it is not a promising start to have so many players sitting on the fence already.
The Buccaneers struggled to run the ball, stop the run, stop the pass, and avoid throwing the ball to the opposite team. Struggling with both phases of the game on both sides of the ball is not a great recipe for success for Tampa Bay heading into the 2019 season.
The team gets a fresh start under the controls of Arians, and for these players, they will need to take advantage of this fresh start. If these four players cannot win the trust of Arians, Bowles, and company, then it is likely their last year in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers.
