As training camp approaches, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have numerous positions that are wide open for players to earn starting roles.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have plenty of positions up for grabs as training camp rolls around, most pressingly on the defensive side of the football. The Buccaneers made roster moves that included moving Caleb Benenoch away from right guard, cutting defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, and drafting a ton of defensive backs in April.
We could see a ton of young players taking the field for the Buccaneers, as first round pick Devin White has already been starting at linebacker and will not even need to participate in a camp battle. With new head coach Bruce Arians guiding the pewter and red with his star studded coaching staff, the Buccaneers will continue to maneuver through their massive facelift.
Training camp is almost here, and work is to be done. The Buccaneers must improve and look to plug some holes on their roster with competitive position battles. Young guys versus the veterans, new guys versus established Buccaneers, there will be no bias in the eyes of the new coaching staff.
With that being said, right guard, a spot along the defensive line, cornerback, safety, and even kicker are wide open. Here are predictions for how each position group will play out during training camp and who will win the camp battle at each spot.
