Wide receiver/tight end: Justin Watson
Sure, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard will be a thrill to watch tomorrow for the first time all season. But here is the bad news: they will all play one series, if they play in the game tonight at all.
Behind Evans and Godwin on the Buccaneers’ first depth chart were newly signed Breshad Perriman, followed by last year’s fifth round pick out of Penn, Justin Watson. Listed at 6-3 and 215 pounds, Watson has the size and speed to become a mismatch all over the field for the Buccaneers this season.
He had just one catch for five yards as a rookie last season, Arians loves to air the ball all over the field, meaning receivers are going to need to catch their breath. This will give a guy like Watson plenty of opportunity to shuffle in and out of the lineup on the field.
Perriman and Watson are both having a strong camp, so right now the upper hand continues to go to Perriman, who may be the fastest man on the field. Tonight we will get a healthy dose of Watson and it will be interesting to see where they play him (in the slot or outside) and how he performs.
