Intriguing Buccaneers to watch at each position vs. Steelers
By Cory Kinnan
Cornerback: Vernon Hargreaves III
Vernon Hargreaves was hard to choose over Sean Murphy-Bunting, who has also gathered quite a bit of hype since being selected in the second round in April. However, this summer is the first time that Hargreaves has looked like a first round, lockdown corner that the Buccaneers drafted him to be.
Sticking with Mike Evans in practice, making acrobatic interceptions, the whole nine yards. If Juju Smith-Schuster is on the field, it will be interesting to watch to see if the Buccaneers have Hargreaves shadow him, and how he performs if he does.
After missing all of last season with an injury in week one, Hargreaves is the healthiest he has been in a while and has a fresh start under Arians and Bowles. He and Carlton Davis are listed as the starting cornerbacks and for good reason: they have both had excellent camps.
Can Hargreaves translate his hot start on the practice field onto the game field or are our hopes high again just to be crushed? Under this new regime, it is easy to remain optimistic that the tides are finally starting to turn, and this very well may be the case with Hargreaves as he looks for a bounce back season.
